Glittering Gala Night for Bracknell Retailers

Last Thursday 1st May, the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) hosted its very own Hollywood-style OSCAs at The Grange Hotel to recognise Outstanding Service to Customers among retailers in the town centre. With trophies sponsored media partner, Bracknell News, the award ceremony is part of an ongoing focus on improving customer service in the town.
Over two hundred retailers from stores in Bracknell plus VIP guests enjoyed drinks, dinner and a motivational talk by Mark Bradley, author of ‘Inconvenience Stores: One Year in UK Customer Service’ before finding out which shops were outstanding winners in each of the following categories.
Winners of these highly coveted awards included:-
Large Chain Store Winner: Bentalls (Non Fashion Departments)
Runners Up: Marks and Spencer and Bentalls (Fashion Department)
Highly Commended: Boots and Walmsleys Furniture
Small / Medium Non – Fashion Chain Store Winner: Fragrance Shop
Runners Up: Jessops
Highly Commended: Thornton’s and Ernest Jones
Small / Medium Fashion Chain Store Winner: Moss
Runners Up: Top Man
Highly Commended: Top Shop
Independent Retailer Winner: Pouncetts

Rob Morris, Retail Manager for Bracknell Retail Partnership gave a special award for ‘outstanding contribution to retailing’ to Claire Rebbeck at Millets.
Rob Morris, Retail Manager for the BRP comments, “It was an excellent evening with well deserved awards going to our Customer Service Stars. We are very grateful to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, especially media partner, the Bracknell News. The OSCAs night marks the start of a major BRP initiative to raise standards of customer service in Bracknell, and I am sure that our shoppers will notice the improvements in their shopping experience when they visit the town centre”.
