Retailers in Bracknell have once again come up trumps following another hugely successful Mystery Shopping Programme. According to Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP), who initiated the programme two years ago to help promote customer service standards in the town, Bracknell’s top scoring retailers are achieving record results.

The October 2007 programme saw Bentalls take first place in the Large chain store category, while five retailers shared top position for the Medium/Small non-fashion chain store category, Specsavers, Thorntons, Vodafone, Timpsons and the Fragrance Shop. Topman took first place in the Medium/Small fashion chain store category while Lowrys Jewellers and Pouncetts shared joint first place in the Independent Store category. Finally, Santa Fe Coffee took first place in the Catering section.

Retailers are marked throughout the Mystery Shopping Programme, which is conducted four times in the year to carefully considers a stores’ ability to offer a high standard of customer service, taking special note of attributes such as friendliness, helpfulness and presentation. The results of this Mystery Shopping Programme (October 2007) show a continued improvement in several key categories, with an average satisfaction rating standing at 86%, and the Customer Service category improving from 80% in November 2006 to 84% in October 2007. The highest scoring retailers of the year are invited to the glamorous OSCAs event in May, where they are presented with their Outstanding Service to Customers Awards.
