Update on Regeneration/ CPO

Following the publication in July 2007 of the Compulsory Purchase Order by Bracknell Forest Borough Council (BFBC), a public inquiry into the order opened on 14th February.

Originally there were 30 objectors to the Order but as a result of the significant effort made by the BFBC and Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) to address these concerns and negotiate the withdrawal of objections. Not one single objector appeared in person at the Inquiry to present evidence or cross examine the Council’s witnesses.

The inspector closed the Inquiry on 29 February and is now preparing his report and recommendation which will be submitted to the Secretary of State.

BFBC and BRP are optimistic that the order will be confirmed by July 2008.
