Spring is here and weddings are in the air, so Bracknell Regeneration Partnership caught up with Christine Pouncett, owner of the recently re-branded Christine Daniels Florist & Wedding Centre.

Christine who owns the family run business, based in Princess Square, reports how business has grown and explains the reason behind the company’s recent spring makeover.

“For the past seven years, our flowers business has been kept busy supplying Bracknell residents with flowers for all occasions.

“About four years ago my husband and I set up another business in an out-of-town location, selling wedding dresses under the brand Christine Daniels – the name was made from using both of our first names.

“We really enjoyed running both businesses but as each enterprise grew, we decided it would make more sense to bring them together, as one complimentary business. So, 18 months ago, we made the decision to bring them together and locate them under the one roof – the dresses and bridal wear towards the back of the shop, with the flowers at the front.

“Our business has continued to flourish and we felt the time was right to re-brand, as Pouncetts didn’t really describe our offering anymore.

“So this week, we changed the name of our business to ‘Christine Daniels Florist & Wedding Centre’ – it clarifies who we are and what we do, so it’s perfect. We believe it is clearer for our customers and says everything that we have become over the last 18 months.

“We chose Princess Square, rather than outside of Bracknell because it is such a prime location within Bracknell town centre. Brides can visit us with ease and people can still pop in to pick up an arrangement of flowers.

“As a result, we transformed the shop, with new flooring and fittings, brightening up the place to give it a warm and welcoming feel. We have upgraded the shop to reflect the quality of our offering.

“While we may have improved our offering, we still remain a family business with an intimate team of advisors. We offer all that we ever did, including our Interflora business, with just a little bit extra!

“Our philosophy has always been to provide a relaxed atmosphere for our customers to feel as comfortable as possible. With this in mind, we operate a ‘by appointment only’ policy for brides so that they have this exclusively to themselves.

“We have kept our customer seating area so that we can sit and discuss flower requirements, whether funeral or wedding, to provide quality customer service and advice in comfort.

“Hopefully our customers will agree that the changes are for the better and fingers crossed this will be reflected in the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership Outstanding Service to Customers Awards (OSCAs) – we came 2nd last year, so we hope to at least do as well.

“We are confident that by being based in Bracknell our newly branded business will continue to go from strength to strength.”

Christine Daniels Florist & Wedding Centre supplies a range of traditional and contemporary style dresses from leading designers, in addition to a large range of accessories from bridal shoes to tiaras and veils.

What’s more, brides can benefit from the business merger, as they will receive 15% off their flowers, when they purchase a dress.
