PRINCESS SQUARE CAR PARK RECEIVES ‘PARK MARK’ ACCREDITATION
24/04/08
The car park at Princess Square in Bracknell has received a ‘Park Mark’ Safer Parking Award, following a recent site assessment.
The ‘Park Mark’ scheme, which is promoted by the Association of the Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and managed by the British Parking Association, is intended to show customers a commitment to reducing both criminal activity and the fear of crime.
To meet the award criteria each car park is independently assessed by the Police Crime Prevention Officers. The facility is checked to ensure it is properly managed, maintained and has appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness – all of which contribute to reducing the opportunity for crime.
Customers who use ‘Park Mark’ accredited car parks can be confident that measures are in place to deter criminal activity and create a safer environment for both them and their vehicle.
Helen Barnett, Marketing Manager at Bracknell Regeneration Partnership says: “I am delighted that the car park in Princess Square has achieved the ‘Park Mark’ award. This accreditation underpins our continued focus to improve the safety in our car parks, and our commitment to reducing crime within Bracknell town centre.”
