Cars and bikes to motor into town for Bracknell show
06/05/09
Car and bike enthusiasts will be in for a treat this June when Bracknell’s Classic Motors Show returns to the town centre.
The event, which will take place in Princess Square and Charles Square on Saturday 13th June, promises to be bigger and better than last year. The show will feature an exclusive display of cars and motorbikes spanning decades of motoring history.
The show will also boast a range of family activities including the chance for visitors to take part in a mini Grand Prix with the show’s giant Scalextric style track, or try their hand at driving a Formula 1 simulator with a prize for the person who tops the leader board at the end of the day. Also on offer will be a Reaction Challenge where participants can try to beat the reaction times of the likes of Formula 1 racing driver Jenson Button! Visitors to the show will also have the opportunity to ride around the town in some of the Show’s classic cars.
This year the event is being organised by Ascot-based children’s charity Sebastian’s Action Trust in conjunction with Bracknell Regeneration Partnership. Entry to the event is free for both visitors and classic vehicle owners.
Helen Barnett, Marketing Manager for Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, explains: “We are delighted to be holding the show in Bracknell for the second year and to be working with Sebastian’s Action Trust to make this a great community event.”
Jane Gates, Director of Sebastian’s Action Trust said: “We are really excited about organising this event and are looking forward to bringing a great selection of cars and motorbikes to the town for everyone to enjoy. We have worked closely with Bracknell Regeneration Partnership to cater for all ages and we hope that people will come along and enjoy the day. We have been really pleased with the response we have had to the event so far but we would love to hear from anyone who has not yet booked a place and would like to take part by displaying their vehicle.”
The many vehicles already signed up for the event include popular classics from Jaguars and Morgans and Harley Davidsons and Honda Goldwings.
Anyone wanting to take part in the display should contact Sebastian’s Action Trust on 01344 622500 by mid May to complete an entry form.
