27/01/05

The race is on for teams to join this year’s town centre charity pancake race and enjoy some flipping fantastic fun!

The annual fundraising race takes place on Tuesday, February 8 and already teams from Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP), Bracknell Forest Borough Council including local councillors, Bentalls, Millets, Shopmobility, Princess Square and the Bracknell News have signed up to take part.

Proceeds from this year’s race, being held at 10.30am on the Broadway, Bracknell town centre, will be shared between the tsunami disater relief fund and the Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest’s charity The Ark.

Princess Square will be defending the winner’s title from last year as teams of four are invited to compete for the coveted first, second and third place trophies, this year sponsored by the Bracknell News.

Runners in the relay race will need speed and a good tossing technique as they hurtle round the course tossing pancakes kindly donated by the Grange Hotel.

Entry is 20 per team (5 per runner) with all proceeds going to charity. Anyone interested in taking part in the race should contact Vikki Mackrory at Bracknell Regeneration Partnership on 01344 350080.
